Performer. Producer. Teacher.

Lesson Agreement

This agreement covers private piano, guitar and bass lessons with Nic Whitworth, in person in Georgetown, Texas or virtually. Please read it, then complete the form at the bottom before your first lesson.

1. Lessons and rates

In-person lessons are $35 per half hour. Virtual lessons are $40 per half hour. Rates may change with at least 30 days’ notice.

2. Payment

You can pay in whichever way is easiest for you:

  • Per lesson. Payment is due when each lesson is finished.
  • Monthly. Payment for the month’s lessons is due at the first lesson of that month.

3. Cancellations and missed lessons

Your lesson time is reserved for you, so please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. To cancel, call (512) 944-8858 or email nicholsmakesmusic@gmail.com.

  • 48 hours’ notice or more. There is no charge. If you pay monthly, the lesson is rescheduled or credited.
  • Less than 48 hours’ notice, or a missed lesson. The full lesson fee is due, whether you pay per lesson or monthly.

If the student is ill. If the student is unwell and cannot come to the studio, the lesson can be switched to a virtual lesson at the same time, even with less than 48 hours’ notice. It is charged at your usual lesson rate. If the lesson is not taken virtually, the cancellation terms above apply.

4. Late arrivals

Lessons start and end at their scheduled times. If you arrive late, the lesson still ends at its scheduled time and the full lesson fee applies.

5. If Nic has to cancel

If Nic needs to cancel a lesson, you are not charged for it. If you have already paid, the lesson is rescheduled or credited.

6. Students under 18

If a student is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be present at all times during every lesson. The parent or guardian completes this agreement on the student’s behalf and is responsible for payment.

7. A distraction-free studio

The studio is a distraction-free environment so students can focus. We ask parents, guardians and guests to keep the sound turned off on their phones during lessons.

8. Instruments

Every student needs their own instrument to practice on between lessons. Guitar and bass students bring their instrument to each lesson. Piano students need a piano at home, and use the studio piano during in-person lessons.

9. Virtual lessons

For virtual lessons, students need their instrument and a good, clear internet connection. If a problem on Nic’s end cuts a lesson short, the lost time is made up. Everything else in this agreement applies to virtual lessons in the same way.

10. Ending lessons

You or Nic can end lessons at any time by letting the other know. Fees for lessons already taken, and for lessons missed or cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, are still due. Any lessons you have paid for and not yet taken are refunded.

Agree and sign

By ticking the box and pressing “I agree” below, you confirm that you have read this agreement and agree to it. If the student is under 18, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and agree on their behalf.
